A sappy reflection that gave me chills.

Let’s not get too emotional, the year hasn’t ended just yet and we all got sometime left to check off those “to-do’s” and finish strong with those New Years Resolutions that we set back in January.

It always seems that the last two days of any given year, we look back and say how fast the year has come to an end and that the next year will be one we take hold of. But is this the right mentality for us to go about? We live our lives day to day, month to month, and never realize that a year has almost passed us and given us great life lessons we will never forget just in time before we do it all over again?

I confess, I’m guilty and am about to do what I just said in the last paragraph.

But, really though I’ve learned a lot…

I’ve never been out of my element as much as I have in this last month of existence. New country, new language (that I’m slowly learning), new friends, new life perspective, and just new everything. My paradigm of how the world operates was totally shattered into tiny pieces and is starting to piece itself back together in an unusual way.

    Lesson Isa (One)

: The World Goes On

We face trials and get hurt in life all the time, but not everyone around you is not going to stop and baby you through it and get you back on your feet. It takes initiative for you to get off your butt, move, and do something about it. The more you mope and weep about your problems, I’m not saying that you can’t be sad or emotionless in these times, the less time you have to figure out a solution and over come them.
So after you quit your job of five years, and decide to take a break from school and make ends meet with a part time job that took you a month to find you just might realize the world goes on. We may feel like we’ve been defeated but really we were just wounded and empowered to pursue an opportunity that’ll get us to our next stepping stone in life. We don’t have the time to waste, even though apparently we forget how fast it moves, yet time gives us two days to reflect what we’ve done the last 363 days.

    Lesson Dalawa (Two)

: It’s not about ourselves

Ultimately, the things that we do doesn’t only affect ourselves. I mean we work so that we can sustain our selves and pay our bills on time, but really when we’re at work do we only serve ourselves? NO! We have our supervisors and customers that we try to please so that they can use the companies services again or gain some kind of recognition.
The time that we stop and realize that a community can’t just be one person, is the time that we’ll be able to see that there’s a world with a ton of differing viewpoints and that these vantage points will be different from the one that we ourselves operate by.
It’s called people live in different parts of the world and not only in the USA.

    Lesson Tatlo (Three)

: Live.Work.Create.

When life gives us lemons make lemonade right? Wrong… You can make a lot of things out of lemons, you just have to be willing to think creatively to realize that life has different ways of teaching you things.
I’ve kind of adopted this motto for myself. Live by Faith, Work with all Your Heart, Create with NO limits.
This isn’t a fix all motto for me, I often times forget that I’m going places no matter what situation I’m in and that I’m living thorough them. Now when I realize that my involuntary muscles are still working and I’m breathing, I’m going to have to work to figure out how to get my self out of a good or bad situation, and that’s when I’ll see that its time for me to get creative in the way that I think.

Now, I hope that these reflections didn’t bore you off my blog. But, seeing the ways that I’ve been challenged in just one month of my life, makes me realize that the coming years will be the same and it’s how we choose to operate in these tough situations to see the wonderment we call life. It’s not a game, but a thing that continues on with people living, working, and creating in different places.
